Meet with an Advisor.

Advisors will help with everything from program and course selection to scheduling classes and understanding how to check your MMCC email. If you are intending to continue onto a four-year college or university after MMCC, transfer advisors will ensure that you select MMCC courses that will count toward the bachelors degree that you are pursuing.

In order to best serve our students, advising is by appointment only.

New Students need to submit high school transcripts and ACT or SAT test scores to MMCC for improved course placement. We also encourage students to have begun their financial aid processes (if applicable) before their advising appointments.

Advising Appointments can be made by calling 989.386.6622 X100. Be ready to indicate whether you would like to be advised in Mt. Pleasant, Harrison, or online.

Financial Aid.

Like every college student, you may be eligible to receive financial aid in the form of federal funds, like grants or loans, or to receive MMCC scholarships. Your aid package will be determined based on your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), which you can fill out here www.fafsa.ed.gov . File soon. It takes a minimum of a few weeks to process financial aid for new students. MMCC's School Code for the FAFSA is 006768.

Filing for aid and understanding your options to pay for college doesn’t need to be complicated, and MMCC’s financial aid staff are available for consultation.

Questions about Financial Aid? Call us at 989.386.6664, email finaid@midmich.edu, or visit our Financial Aid Department .

Assessment.

If you have not completed an English and/or Math course at your previous college(s), and wish to enroll in an English and/or Math course at MMCC, you must first take our assessment exam. This assessment, called ACCUPLACER, will determine the English and Math courses that will best suit your experience-level. ACCUPLACER is not an admissions test. It is an assessment that helps students identify their present strengths and needs.

Verify You've met Course Prerequisites.

Several courses at MMCC have prerequisites that must be satisfied prior to enrollment in the course. Often times Guest Students have satisfied prerequisites at their "home" college/university. However, colleges/universities do not generally share prerequisite information with one another. So we would have no knowledge if you actually completed a prerequisite for one of our courses at another college/university. This could prevent you from registering through our online system (Midweb).

To verify that you have met our prerequisites, please follow the steps below:

  1. Fax an unofficial transcript from the college/university where you completed the prerequisite course to (989)772-2386. You may also e-mail the unofficial transcript to enrollment@midmich.edu;
  2. Identify what MMCC course you wish to enroll in, and which course on your unofficial transcript you believe satisfies our prerequisite;
  3. Include your name, MMCC student ID number, phone number, and e-mail address on your correspondence.
  4. Once we have verified that you have completed the prerequisite(s), we will email you a confirmation. At this point you will be able to utilize our Midweb system to register and pay for the course.

Please note that this process may take some time to complete. And our email confirmation in no way guarantees that a spot will be available when you attempt to register. So please follow the steps above in a timely fashion, paying close attention to critical registration timelines.

num4.png

Register.

Once you've completed the other steps, you can register online using MidWeb, or visit the Mt. Pleasant or Harrison Campuses to register in person. In order to register online, you will need to log into midmich.edu/portal and use MidWeb .

num5.png

Payment.

Students who register prior to the full tuition due date will be expected to pay the Enrollment Fee upon registration ($25 or $50 depending on course load). This fee "holds" a spot for the student in his/her classes. The remaining tuition is due on the full tuition due date. Students that register after the full tuition due date will be expected to pay the tuition in full at the time of registration. The Enrollment Fee and tuition can be paid on MidWeb, in Enrollment Services, or through our Cashier's Office.

Remember that Guest Students are not eligible for financial aid through MMCC. The federal government will only allow you to apply for financial aid through one school per semester and that should be your home school where you are earning the bulk of your credits.

OPTIONS FOR PAYING YOUR TUITION BILL:

  1. Pay by cash, money order, check, MasterCard, VISA, or Discover card at the Harrison campus Cashier’s Office, or at the Registration counter at the Doan Center for Student Services in Mount Pleasant.
  2. Pay with MasterCard, VISA, or Discover card by logging in to MidWeb at midweb.midmich.edu. Important: If you use ANY credit or debit card online OR on campus, there will be a 2.7% transaction fee added onto each payment. (Minimum fee of $3.95)

Returning Students

Returning students are those who have attended MMCC before and are enrolling in classes again after a year or more absence. This does not include students who have only attended before as a high school dual enrollee.

Returning to MMCC is easier than you might think, and you don’t need to figure it out on your own. Our admissions team wants to help in any way that we can.

Set up a tour, request more information, or ask a question by contacting admissions: Email admissions@midmich.edu or call 989.386.6661.

Apply and Send Transcripts

If you haven’t attended MMCC for a year or more, you need to reapply. It’s free and simple to complete a new admissions application. Remember to mark "Returning Student" on your application. If you have not yet sent us your high school transcripts or ACT / SAT scores, you will also need to provide us with those.
