Goat Milk Soap
Mt. Pleasant Campus | CLAB 313
Have you ever wanted to learn how to craft soap but didn't know where to start? Now is your chance! This goat milk soap class is a great entrance into the world of soapmaking.
Goat milk soap has become known for being an all-natural exfoliator, rich in nutrients, and a gentle cleaner. If you are looking for a soap that is not harsh and keeps your skin health come make goat milk soap with us.
In this hands-on class, you will be given a brief history of soap, safety tips, and practices, how to properly handle sodium hydroxide, how to use a lye calculator, the basic chemical process of soap, how to customize your soap and what to do with your soap after it saponifies (chemically changes into soap). You will have more than 40 scent options (including 100% all-natural essential oils) along with color and texture to tailor your suds to you personally.
Each student will create a full batch (32 bars) of handmade goat milk soap. There will be plenty for you to share and keep. The soapbox and instructions for cutting your soap into bars at home are included in the class cost.
These are just a handful of the incredible scents that will be available… Apple Jack Peel, Gingerbread Cookie, Warm Flannel, Heavenly Honeysuckle, lily lemon drop, lemon eucalyptus, warm vanilla sugar, Ginger Patchouli, Cactus Flower, Black Raspberry Vanilla, Lavender, Lemongrass, Oatmeal Milk & Honey, Pineapple Cilantro, Almond Biscotti, Pumpkin Spice, Silver Sparkle, Hot Cocoa, Sleigh Ride, Lingonberry Spice and So many more
NOTE: Participants must wear safety goggles, long pants, a long-sleeve shirt, and close-toed shoes to this workshop. Because we work with basic chemistry (combining fats/oils with lye), this class is for adults (16+ years) and is not recommended for younger children.
