Michigan SBDC Recognizes Mid Michigan Community College as Outstanding Host
May 20, 2015 — Mid Michigan Community College (MMCC) was honored with the Michigan Small Business Development Center’s Host Award on May 13, during the network’s annual awards ceremony. Mid Michigan Community College President Christine Hammond accepted the award, given in recognition of MMCC’s commitment to supporting local small businesses. Continue reading

MMCC Held Its Commencement Ceremony on May 9th
May 14, 2015 — Mid Michigan Community College held its commencement ceremony on May 9th to honor this year’s graduates. In total, over 450 students were eligible to receive degrees, and roughly 215 graduates attended the ceremony.

Record Turnout for MMCC Mountain Bike Race
May 14, 2015 — Mid Michigan Community College hosted its 6th annual Rust Shaker mountain bike race on April 25th. A record 128 racers competed. The race was held on MMCC’s Harrison campus’ nearly 16-mile mountain bike trail. Continue reading

MMCC Partners with Beaverton HS on Early College
May 14, 2015 — Beaverton Rural Schools has been approved by the State of Michigan to run an Early College Program beginning in the 2015-2016 school year. By attending a fifth year of high school, Early College students will be able to earn an associates degree through Mid Michigan Community College while they also earn their high school diplomas. MMCC Foundation Raises nearly $100,000 at A Northern Tradition
Apr 30, 2015 — The Mid Michigan Community College Foundation raised nearly $100,000 at its 14th annual fundraiser, A Northern Tradition at Jay’s Sporting Goods. A Northern Tradition is the Foundation’s biggest fundraiser. In fourteen years, it has raised over $1.3 Million. Continue reading

Mid Michigan Community College Inducts Honor Students
Apr 21, 2015 — On Friday, March 27, 2015 Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society inducted 80 new members into the Alpha Omicron Omicron Chapter at Mid Michigan Community College. To join the honor society, students must have a 3.5 Grade Point Average or higher and have completed at least 12 credit hours at MMCC. Continue reading

1965 Study Committee Thanked in MMCC Board Resolution
Feb 17, 2015 — Fifty years ago, through conversations across Clare and Gladwin Counties, community members identified a need to expand the higher education offerings in the mid-Michigan area. As a result of those conversations, a Study Committee comprised of school administrators and citizens embarked on determining the feasibility of creating and sustaining a local community college.
