Registration for the winter semester is now underway at Mid Michigan College. The winter semester begins January 11, 2020, and it is important that students register as soon as possible to have the best selection of courses so a schedule can be built to meet their needs.

To encourage early enrollment, students registering October 14 through 4PM on Friday, November 22, 2019 are automatically entered into a drawing and have the chance to win one of three prizes. The top prize includes 3 credits at Mid (includes tuition and fees) and a designated parking space at the campus of the winner’s choice. The second winner drawn takes home a Mid blanket, hat, scarf, and $25 Bookstore Gift Card, and our final winner takes home a Mid Travel Mug and $25 Bookstore Gift Card. Students who registered for classes prior to the announcement of the drawing are automatically entered.

“Classes fill up pretty quickly,” said Karry Kiste-Toner, Assistant Vice President of Student Success at Mid.“It’s important that students attend orientation, apply for financial aid, and register for classes early so we can help them prepare.”

At Mid, students now get more individualized attention than ever before. All incoming students are paired with a Mid Mentor who guides them through the registration process and works one-on-one with them until graduation. This personalized approach includes assisting students in course selection and creating an educational plan based on each student’s individual goals.

“Students are often surprised at the variety of options they have at Mid,” noted Kiste-Toner.“Because most of our courses transfer easily, we are an affordable alternative to attending a university, and an option for students who attend other schools to round out their schedules. We also offer short-term training in high-wage, high-demand career fields.”

Mid also offers additional opportunities in new locations across the mid-Michigan region. A robust selection of courses, programs, and trainings are now available in Huron, Tuscola, Mecosta, and Osceola counties along with phlebotomy training in Alpena.

"This expansion of services reflects Mid's commitment to providing access to affordable educational opportunities throughout the area," explained Kiste-Toner.
