Would you like to help students achieve their dreams of going to college? Are you looking for a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Mid-Michigan?
Mark your calendar now for Mid Michigan Community College’s (MMCC) 25th annual Fall Festival, sponsored by Family Fare Supermarkets—a fundraising event that directly supports scholarships for MMCC students. This year’s festival will be held on Sunday, September 17 at the College’s Harrison Campus from Noon to 4pm.
The Harrison Campus will transform into a festival atmosphere with fun children’s games and inflatables, homemade ice cream, a WWI display, Harrison Area Wood Carvers, a blacksmith, and live onstage entertainment including the Louis Ell Family and Central Area Concert Bands.
Event tickets provide attendees a pork BBQ meal, complete with baked beans, corn on the cob, and desserts, generously donated by Family Fare Supermarkets. Ticket stubs also provide entry into the festival’s raffle. Winners do not need to be present at the Fall Festival to claim their prizes. In honor of our Twenty-Fifth Festival Anniversary, MMCC will be giving away 25 in-district contact hours - a $4,200 value! Plus, ticket holders also have the chance to win a big screen TV, donated by Wood’s Household Furniture, and shopping sprees at Family Fare Supermarkets among other prizes.
As part of the day’s festivities, MMCC will host a car, truck and motorcycle show, filling the front lawn with classic vehicles. Other festival events include various children’s games, Timber Trail running races, health fair, with participation from over 13 agencies and service organizations, and an animal adoption event sponsored by The Clare County Animal Shelter.
This community event raises over $20,000 for scholarships each year. Tickets are only $5 in advance and $7 on the day of the event. Early ticket sales are available online at midmich.edu/bbq. Do not miss an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful lunch, great entertainment, and a chance to win one of many prizes.
