Would you like to help students achieve their dreams of going to college? Are you looking for a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon in mid-Michigan?

Mark your calendar now for Mid Michigan College’s 26th annual Fall Festival & BBQ, sponsored by Family Fare Supermarkets—a fundraising event that directly supports scholarships for Mid students. This year’s festival takes place Noon-4pm Sunday, September 16 at the College’s Harrison Campus.

The Harrison Campus is transformed into a festival atmosphere with fun children’s games and inflatables, homemade ice cream, a WWI display, Harrison Area Wood Carvers, a blacksmith, and live onstage entertainment including the Louis Ell Family and Central Area Concert Bands.

Event tickets provide attendees a pork BBQ meal, complete with baked beans, corn on the cob, and desserts, generously donated by Family Fare Supermarkets. Ticket stubs are entered into the festival’s raffle. Winners do not need to be present to win. Ticket holders have the chance to win a big screen TV, donated by Wood’s Household Furniture, golf gift certificates, and shopping sprees at Family Fare Supermarkets among other prizes.

As part of the day’s festivities, Mid hosts a car, truck and motorcycle show, filling the front lawn with classic vehicles. Other festival events include various children’s games, Timber Trail running races, health fair, and an animal adoption event sponsored by The Clare County Animal Shelter.

This community event raises over $20,000 for scholarships each year. Tickets are only $5 in advance and $7 the day of the event. Early ticket sales are available online at midmich.edu/bbq. Do not miss an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful lunch, great entertainment, and a chance to win one of many prizes.
