Mid Michigan Community College’s (MMCC) Lifelong Learning Department recently collaborated with area libraries to develop College Bound Book displays.

These well-rounded book displays include such books as Go Tell it on the Mountain by James Baldwin, Native Son by Richard Wright, The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, and The Good Soldier by Ford Madox Ford.

According to Carol Darlington, Director of Lifelong Learning, “Thirty-eight books were given to each of four libraries including the Gladwin County Library, Pere Marquette/Harrison District Library, Chippewa River District Library, and Alma Public Library. The libraries will display the books over the next several months, encouraging readers to gain a broad reading experience in preparation for college.”

Plans for more collaborations are already underway.
