Mid Michigan Community College (MMCC) is now offering on campus Lifelong Learning classes for popular interests. Local experts teach these classes at our conveniently located campuses. The next upcoming class is Artistic Welding on the Mt. Pleasant Campus.
Artistic Welding is designed for the welding novice. Learn the ins and outs of welding, including which techniques and equipment to use and what metals you should combine to bring your vision to life--all in a safe environment with an expert instructor. Students will develop welding skills, explore their artistic ideas, and create a piece of garden art.
All welding clothing will be provided by MMCC, however students should wear long sleeves, long pants, closed toed shoes and bring a baseball style hat. Students should plan to provide many of their own items for welding on their second week of class.
Artistic Welding will be held at Morey Technical Center, located on MMCC’s Mt. Pleasant Campus. Class will be held on Thursdays, September 21, 28 and October 5, 12, 19 6pm-9pm. Registration is $110 per person.
“Welding is a fascinating hobby that people can enjoy throughout their lifetime,” noted Carol Darlington, MMCC’s Director of Lifelong Learning. “We’re excited to offer this learning opportunity that gives participants the opportunity to explore their creative side and learn a new skill.”
