Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drones) have unique applications for public safety personnel. Drones can put eyes and ears on the ground and in the air in scenarios that would be impenetrable or life-threatening to personnel. This technology has the potential to extend and expand public safety team’s abilities while improving the safety of everyone involved in an emergency. This 24-hour comprehensive training is focused on providing participants with hands-on experiences that help them translate the potential of drones into action. Participants receive information regarding the impact of drones in the public safety sector, data to facilitate informed decisions during the planning stage of drone implementation, and the ability to maximize their return on investment in a drone program.

Trainees receive flight simulator software and a Syma X5C Quadcopter drone.
