PTASTIC is comprised of students admitted into the Physical Therapist Assistant Program, and provides students with opportunities to develop the core values of professionalism and values-based behaviors as outlined by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Through service learning projects, fundraising, and recreational activities, students promote health, wellness, and physical therapy services within the College and surrounding communities. The students serve to increase awareness and promotion of   physical therapist assistant career opportunities.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT STUDENT TACTICALLY-INVOLVED CLUB (PTASTIC) GOALS

  • To develop the core values of professionalism and values-based behaviors as outlined by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • To promote awareness of the career of the physical therapist assistant within the student body of the College as well as in the general public.
  • To encourage participation and networking of PTASTIC members with other physical therapy students and professionals at the student conclave of the Michigan Physical Therapy Association each spring.
  • To serve the community with events that encourage awareness and promotion of health and the services of physical therapists.

This club is designed to fund Radiography program activities, such as the annual Michigan Society of Radiologic Technologists conference, the annual registery review seminar, and class pictures. The group includes students from the first and second-year cohorts, the program director and coordinator, adjunct instructors, and the program work-study.
