Corrections Officers, you can earn your 15-credit State Corrections Certificate by taking just 5 courses in 2 semesters tuition-free at Mid Michigan College through a Michigan Community College Association Grant.

The Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) requires that corrections officers earn 15 college credits within 24 months of employment. The Michigan Corrections Officer Grant Program established a fund to be administered by the Michigan Community College Association (MCCA) to support tuition and fees for corrections officers enrolled at a Michigan community college—including Mid Michigan College.

Mid’s Criminal Justice State Corrections Pathways are offered in partnership with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC). The certificate provides you with the 15 credits required for employment with the MDOC, and those credits ladder into the College’s associate degree pathway—saving you time and money as you expand your skill set. Each pathway includes the five core courses that have been developed by the Michigan Correctional Officers’ Training Council.

Plus, you can complete the certificate pathway 100% online in just two semesters!

Mid's experienced Admissions team is available to help you every step of the way—from applying to Mid to obtaining grant funding.
