Math & Science Studies Transfer

Get More from Your Transfer Degree

We don't think about starting at Mid as "starting small." We think about it as dreaming big. Our transfer degrees are designed for flexibility. They promote our students' curiosity, critical reasoning, and confidence, along with their ability to form complex connections between concepts and between themselves and others.

Mid specializes in general education and introductory-level classes, because they account for so much of what we offer. Our experienced faculty care, and they carefully develop coursework that promotes broad and deep student learning.

Why Math & Science?

Students can complete nearly half of their bachelor degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering , and Math) fields by earning their AA in Math & Science Studies Transfer at Mid.

For every STEM field bachelor degree graduate, there are 2.5 entry-level jobs. That's more than double the number of jobs available to non-STEM graduates. A 2013 report notes 5.7 million total job postings in STEM fields, of which 76% required a 4-year degree*.

STEM jobs also offer a substantial salary premium.

The average advertised salary for entry-level STEM jobs requiring a BA or higher is $66,123 compared to $52,299 for non-STEM jobs*.
