Amanda M. Wismer PT, DPT, MSA
Director of PTA Program
Amanda Wismer earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health Promotion and Rehabilitation from Central Michigan University, a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Oakland University.
Amanda has been in her role at Mid since 2011. In addition to her teaching experience, Amanda has over ten years experience working as a Physical Therapist (PT). Amanda started her career as a traveling PT for two years, was employed by MidMichigan Health for four years, and currently works as a casual/on-call employee for various skilled nursing/rehabilitation and acute care facilities in the area. This allows Amanda to continue to enhance her direct patient care skills and bring up-to-date knowledge from the current field to students.
Crystal Meister, PTA, BA, DCE
Crystal Meister earned her Associates in Applied Science, Physical Therapy Assistant, from Delta College in 2006 and her Bachelors in Business Administration from University of Michigan Flint in 2016. Crystal has been in her role at Mid-Michigan College since 2023. She has more than 15 years’ experience as a PTA in various settings including long term care (geriatrics), acute care (post-surgical, cancer care, respiratory and ICU) and outpatient pediatrics. Crystal has also worked closely with student PTA’s and new graduates throughout her career including mentoring many students by being a clinical instructor in all settings and maintaining a position on the Mentoring Committee at Covenant Hospital.
Crystal continues to maintain employment at MaryFree Bed at Covenant, acute care and pediatrics, allowing her to maintain and enhance her direct patient care, continuing to bring the most up to date information and techniques back to our current students.
