Help Desk

The Help Desk provides support to students, faculty, and staff who are experiencing technical difficulties, building issues, or just have a question they do not know how to answer. If you are experiencing any problems with technology, a classroom issue, or just need a question answered you can contact the Help Desk

Moodle

Moodle stands for "Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment". Put simply, it is Mid's Learning Management System (LMS). Moodle is the system we use to support online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses. Get to Moodle by logging in through myMid

Moodle is an open-source LMS. For many reasons, that makes Moodle a great choice for Mid. We can offer better support, more features, more customization for instructors, and a simpler system that works well with myMid and Mid Mich Email.

Mid utilizes the MidAlert notification system which allows the College to communicate notifications to the campus community.

  • Emergency notifications and timely warnings are available through Mid Alert! for time-sensitive situations that may pose an ongoing threat to the campus community including emergency situations, inclement weather, and campus closures.
  • Mid Alert! also allows Mid to provide general campus information updates such as activities, notices, and announcements.

Self-Service

Self-Service is a secure online environment that lets

  • Prospective Students check their admissions paperwork status, update their personal address information, review what courses are being offered, and the status of their financial aid awards.
  • Current students can register for courses, view final grades, and more.
  • Faculty can view their active courses and submit grades and waivers for students.
  • Employees can view earnings statements, timecards, and leave balances.

Informer is a highly-rated web-based business intelligence platform that enables Mid to

  • Empower all users to quickly drill down into data that are relevant using Informer’s self-service reporting and dashboard creation.
  • Make business decisions quickly and easily by using Informer to collaborate and communicate within and across departments.

 

Scheduler

  • This is the home of our Scheduler software AdAstra. You can use Scheduler to see what might be happening around campus, reserve a vehicle for travel needs, or schedule a room for your meeting.

VPN Remote Access

  • A Virtual Private Network is a connection method used to add security and privacy to private and public networks, like WiFi Hotspots and the Internet. Virtual Private Networks are most often used by corporations to protect sensitive data. Mid’s VPN allows employees to securely access sensitive internal network resources such as Colleague and other systems from external locations.
