Honors Convocation, scheduled for May 7, has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 risk and out of concern for the wellbeing of all those who were planning to attend. Future plans will be announced.
Honors Convocation is held annually to formally recognize those students graduating with honors and/or receiving special recognition awards. Each student receives a certificate of academic achievement in recognition of their scholastic success.
Recipients of Special Recognition Awards are also celebrated. These students have been selected by faculty and/or departmental administrators because of a special contribution to their field of study or to the College. Recipients receive a special certificate along with a silver cord to wear at Commencement.
To be eligible for Honors Convocation, students are required to have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and submit a completed graduation application by the April 1 deadline. Eligible students receive an invitation letter with further details. Students who are invited but unable to attend Honors Convocation receive their certificate of academic achievement in the mail approximately two weeks after the event.
Honors Convocation is approximately 90 minutes long.
