Official Course Description

Basic exercise theory and implementation are presented. Fitness concepts of flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination and relaxation are emphasized. Additionally, patient mobility with transfers and progressing to wheelchairs and assistive devices are introduced. The importance of patient and personal safety through proper posture, body mechanics and monitoring are emphasized. Prerequisites: Admission into the Program. Corequisites: PTA.105, 106, 111, 115 and 116
