Official Course Description

This course is designed to familiarize persons or refresh law enforcement personnel with the purposes and functions of criminal law in the operation of a law enforcement agency. Topics of discussion include philosophy and source of criminal law, criminal procedure, search and seizure, arrest, specific crimes, judicial procedure, and other topics such as defendant rights. Prerequisite: CJS.200
