Lori joined the HR team as the AVP in January of 2016 and directs the strategic vision and tasks of the HR team in relationship to the forward movement of the College.

Lori has held many different jobs throughout her adult life to include, RV & cargo trailer manufacturing, retail, collections, private aviation charter, restaurant management/waitressing, and over 10 years within Human Resources in both the K-12 and College settings.

Lori holds an Associate in Applied Science of Business from Glen Oaks Community College, Bachelor of Arts in Management & Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University, a Master’s of Science of Leadership with an HR emphasis from Trine University, and a Graduate Certificate of Human Resources Administration from Central Michigan University. She also is a graduate of the Army Logistics University as a certified Army Logistician.

Lori is also a current member of the Michigan Army National Guard where she holds the rank of Captain.

Lori is active in her community as a member of the Clare-Farwell American Legion Post 558, secretary for the Clare Kiwanis, and a Board member for the Clare/Gladwin United Way.

In her spare time, Lori loves to be with her family enjoying the outdoors or enjoying a long distance run.

Dawn Tanner

Dawn has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Human Resources Management from Oakland University. She has over 20 years of experience working in the payroll, benefits and human resources fields. She has worked for both the private and public sector in organizations such as rehabilitation therapies, employee leasing, media publishing, and community mental health. She participates in the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and was a volunteer leader on the Board of Mid Michigan Human Resource Association for over 10 years.

In her current role she manages the talent management platform and recruitment program, organizes the on-boarding of new employees, manages the FMLA and workers compensation programs, and coordinates the educational tuition, employee and family grant programs.

In her spare time, Dawn enjoys spending time with family, golfing, bowling and reading.

David Ferris

David moved to Mount Pleasant from Toronto, Canada and obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Toronto.

David’s occupational background is in financial services administration, working with group benefits insurance plans, loan fulfilment, and mutual fund investment. He has also worked for the Canadian federal government, for the Toronto Humane Society, and on film sets as a key-grip/gaffer/camera-assistant, as well as a photographer’s assistant.

David has an avid interest in language and is fluently bilingual in French. He loves travelling, cooking, and practicing Aikido.
