Mid Michigan College’s Women’s Basketball team has reached the National Junior College Athletic Association’s (NJCAA) Division II National Championship.
After an exciting season with a 28 and 3 record and earning the title of District Champions, the Lakers Women's Basketball team was selected as the 11th seed for Nationals.
During the season, the team averaged 71.7 points per game with 37.7 rebounds per game and 14.7 assists per game.
The Mid Michigan College Lakers take on the Niagara County Community College Thunder Wolves in Port Huron, Michigan at the St. Clair Community College Fieldhouse. Championship tentative start date is April 20.
“From being full-time students to attending practices and games, and from staying on top of their studies to working part-time jobs, Mid’s student-athletes go above and beyond, and are looking forward to competing for the National title,” noted Ryan Harkrader, Mid Michigan College Athletic Director.
Mid competes in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association regionally, and the NJCAA nationally. Currently, Mid supports eight NJCAA teams: men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, baseball, softball, and men’s and women’s bowling.
