Mid Michigan Community College (MMCC) will host the Mid-Michigan Area Storytellers for a free, public event on April 18th. Beginning at 6:00 PM in the College’s Harrison auditorium, four storytellers will share a range of tales and narratives that will entertain all ages. Seating is limited to 200.

This community event is sponsored by MMCC’s Early Childhood Education Program, its student club EChO, and Mt. Pleasant Association for the Education of Young Children (MP-AEYC). A grant from the MMCC Foundation provided event funding.

“Originally, we wanted to plan a Harrison campus event to increase literacy awareness and to celebrate Month of the Young Child with our early childhood education students,” says MMCC Early Childhood Education Program Coordinator, Julie Ehle. “Thinking others would also enjoy the event, we expanded our efforts to include our program's early childhood community partners, and the project blossomed into a community celebration. It promises to be an evening full of entertainment and laughter.”

The event will also include refreshments, book sales, and a meet and greet with the performers following the performance.
