Registration for the fall semester is now underway at Mid Michigan Community College. The fall semester begins August 26, 2017, and it is important that students register as soon as possible to get the best selection of classes.

To encourage early enrollment, students registering before August 4, 2017 will be automatically entered into an Early Bird Drawing with the chance to win one of three prizes: 3 credits at MMCC (free tuition and fees), a Fitbit or $100 MMCC Bookstore gift certificate. Students who registered for classes prior to the announcement of the Early Bird promotion are already entered into the drawing.

“Classes fill up pretty quickly,” said Karry Kiste-Toner, Director of Mentoring and Retention at MMCC. “It’s important that students attend orientation, apply for financial aid, and register for classes as early as possible.”

At MMCC, students now get more individualized attention than ever before. All incoming students will be paired with a Mid Mentor who will guide them through the registration process and work in one-on-one settings with them until graduation. Academic advisors will further this personalized approach to student success by assisting students in course selection and creating an educational plan based on each student’s individual goals.

“In this economy, a quality education is more important than ever,” noted Kim Barnes, Executive Dean of Student and Academic Support Services at MMCC. “Because most of our classes transfer so easily, we are an affordable alternative to attending a university. We also offer many options for training in high wage, high demand occupations.”

Programs in the health sciences and trades such as heating and cooling, welding, and automotive industries all provide MMCC students with the tools to start a great career.

“We’re getting a lot of calls from employers who are looking for students trained in these fields,” said Scott Govitz, Executive Director of Workforce and Economic Development. “Jobs are available for those with the right training.”

Prospective students can apply online at midmich.edu or call the Admissions Office at (989) 386-6661.
