Several events on both of the Mid Michigan College campuses are coming up soon to help students and community members launch their careers.
For Students
Mid Michigan College employees are coming together to gather professional and business casual clothing donations in April. Students will then have the opportunity to select an outfit of their choice at no cost from the donations gathered while supplies last on the Harrison Campus 11am-2pm Thursday, April 27 near the Bookstore and on the Mt. Pleasant Campus 11am-2pm Monday, May 1 in the CSS Lobby.
Students can also get a professional headshot to use on their LinkedIn profile and resume Tuesday, May 2.
For Students, Community Members, & Local Businesses
The final event is open to Mid students and community members, as well as local businesses!
Mid Michigan College and MiWorks! are excited to host a Career Fair 1pm – 3:30pm Tuesday, May 2. This event will take place on the Mt. Pleasant Campus in the Community Room, is free, open to the public, and features many local employers who are interested in hiring local residents.
“Our Career Fair is a convenient opportunity for employers to interview and hire local workers, and for job seekers to connect with companies who need their skills,” noted Amy Dykhouse, Director of Career Services & Student Accommodations at Mid. “Employers from a variety of industries are planning to attend and are looking for candidates at all skill levels. Job seekers should dress for success and have copies of their updated résumé ready to share.”
Employers who attend benefit from networking opportunities, access to a large pool of applicants, and the opportunity to build awareness of their company among Mid Michigan College students and community members.
Employers wishing to have a presence at the event must pre-register, and job seekers are encouraged to pre-register as well. Registration forms for employers and job seekers can be found at midmich.edu/careerfair.
