Mid Michigan College offers Lifelong Learning and Professional Development opportunities to community members.

Thursday, May 23 discover how to Explore and Monitor Vernal Pools. What’s a vernal pool? Do you have a wet area on your property that dries up in the summer months? Do you enjoy the chorus of frogs each spring? If you answered yes, then you probably have a vernal pool on your property. The three-hour workshop includes a brief indoor presentation followed by an outdoor excursion to a vernal pool. The class costs just $10 per family and is appropriate for ages 7 and up.

Saturday, June 1 don’t miss the Kirtland Warbler and Evening Grosbeak trip! Participants will visit the unique Kirtland Warbler breeding area near Grayling and Hartwick Pines Visitor Center where Evening Grosbeaks are consistently observed. Cost is just $40 per person and the trip departs from Mid’s Mt. Pleasant Campus.

Statistical Process Control with MSA is a 16-hour activity-based workshop scheduled for June 18 and 19. This workshop is essential for those working in the manufacturing field. The workshop teaches the fundamentals of process control and how to apply it to product, process, and measurement systems. This workshop costs $1,200 per participant and takes place on Mid’s Mt. Pleasant Campus at the Morey Technical Education Center.

Interested in becoming a better supervisor? A Supervisory Skills workshop is schedule to begin Wednesday, July 10 and includes four sessions. The workshop is effective for new and experienced supervisors, and teaches participants how to effectively communicate, resolve conflicts, manage time, motivate employees, prevent accidents, and much more. The Supervisory Skills workshop costs just $350 per participant and takes place on Mid’s Mt. Pleasant Campus at the Morey Technical Education Center.
