Mid Michigan Community College (MMCC) is excited to host the first annual MMCC Job Fair, 12:30pm – 4:30pm, Friday, October 6. This event is free, open to the public, and will feature many local employers who are interested in hiring qualified local residents.
To highlight College Application Month, which takes place during October for local high school students, the Job Fair will kick off 9:30am-11am with a session for local high school seniors to help them focus on their futures and raise awareness of career options in the local area.
Participants and Employer Representatives who register will enjoy hearing futurist speaker Keith Brophy during lunch 11am-Noon. Keith has served as State Director of the Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC) since 2015 and has extensive experience launching and building various national businesses that began in Michigan. Keith frequently speaks on future trends in regional and national venues, including providing testimony before state subcommittees on advances in business technology and testimony before a U.S. congressional subcommittee on mobile health innovation.
The MMCC Job Fair will be open to the public 12:30pm - 4:30pm, and job seekers are encouraged to dress for success and bring several copies of their resume to share with local employers. Many local employers are planning to attend, including MidMichigan Health, Burch Tank, Isabella Bank, JD Metalworks, Michigan Masonic Home, and StageRight among others.
Employers who attend will benefit from networking opportunities, access to a large pool of applicants, and the opportunity to build awareness of their company among the MMCC student body. Employers wishing to have a presence at the event should pre-register at midmich.edu/jobfair.
