Mid Michigan College is preparing for a fresh start this fall semester with courses planned to take place on-campus and remotely through a variety of delivery methods. The College is committed to following recommendations from governmental agencies and health professionals to provide and maintain a healthy environment for students and campus visitors.
The College began to roll out its COVID Response Plan through a phased approach beginning in late-June before campus-wide implementation in August.
“The health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff are our top concerns as we plan for the future,” said Tim Hood, President of Mid Michigan College. “We are eager to bring students safely back to campus this fall with social distancing and appropriate safety precautions in place.”
The College’s plan includes a variety of measures based on scientific and expert recommendations to limit exposure and maintain a clean environment. Social distancing measures will be enforced, along with the use of face coverings, and an enhanced cleaning schedule. Classrooms will be reconfigured to facilitate social distancing and classroom equipment will be sanitized between courses.
“We are planning to take thorough precautions to reduce risk,” noted Hood. “We also recognize that not everyone will be ready to return to campus and will be sensitive to those concerns as well.”
The College is continuing to expand the number of courses, programs, and services that are available remotely. Courses will be offered on-campus and through a variety of delivery methods including online, hybrid, and HyFlex. These options can be further explored at midmich.edu/delivery-methods.
The College’s plan also includes a mix of on-campus and online resources and academic support services to help students succeed. From one-on-one help registering for courses to remote academic support, and access to loaner hotspot devices and no-cost counseling, Mid continues efforts to make attending college remotely a robust experience.
Registration for the fall semester is available through September 4 with courses beginning August 31 in Harrison, Mt. Pleasant, online, and at Mid Michigan College locations throughout mid-Michigan, including Big Rapids, Bad Axe, and Caro among others.
