Discover the amazing variety of birds that dwell in your own backyard! Attend Mid Michigan Community College’s (MMCC) Lifelong Learning class and learn the art of Birding.
Learn how to identify birds, attract them to your property, and track sightings. Plus, you’ll travel to local areas of interest and develop your birding skills in the field. Participants will also explore bird habitat preferences, and the phases of annual migration patterns.
MMCC’s Birding class kicks off with classroom discussion 6pm-9pm Mondays July 31, August 7, and August 14. Field trips to local areas of interest are also scheduled August 5, August 12, and August 19.
“Birding is a fascinating hobby that people can enjoy throughout their lifetime,” noted Carol Darlington, MMCC’s Director of Lifelong Learning. “We’re excited to offer this learning opportunity that immerses participants in nature and enhances awareness of the world around us.”
Community members wishing to participate can register online at midmich.edu/lifelonglearning. The registration fee for adults is $129 and children ages 12-17 can attend for just $65 with a registered adult.
