Several Mid Michigan College Lakers Basketball student-athletes recently received conference and regional honors from the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA).

Jaylen Rutherford (Davison) received All-Region, All-MCCAA, First Team All-Conference honors for his exceptional play this season which included averaging 23.3 points per game.

Dre Tuominen (Negaunee) was named Second Team All-Conference, along with Javel Lewis (Delta) and Areon Evans (Toledo, OH) who both receive Honorable Mention All-Conference honors.

Lewis was also named to the All-Defensive and All-Freshman teams.

Amelia McNutt (East Lansing) and Savannah Peplinski (Traverse City) both receive All-Region, All-MCCAA, First Team All-Conference honors.

Steffi Kracko (DeWitt) earned Second Team All-Conference recognition, and Kaitlyn Ray (Big Rapids) received Honorable Mention All-Conference honors.

Peplinski was also named to the All-Defensive team.

“From being full-time students to attending practices and games, and from staying on top of their studies to working part-time jobs, Mid’s student-athletes go above and beyond, and all of us at Mid are proud of their accomplishments,” noted Ryan Harkrader, Mid Michigan College Athletic Director.

Currently, Mid supports eight varsity teams: men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, baseball, softball, and men’s and women’s bowling.
