Mid Michigan College is offering Welding Short-Term Training starting September 23 at Huron Area Technical Center in Bad Axe. Training is hands-on and designed to prepare students for entry-level welding careers.

Mid's Welding Short-Term Training is intended to introduce the necessary fundamental skills required for those interested in a welding career. This 120-hour training provides entry-level skills in safety practices, blueprint reading and welding symbols, and basic MIG welding. Training includes a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on practical experience. Upcoming training sessions are listed below.

Welding career opportunities are expected to increase by 3% through 2026, and welders can expect an average annual salary of $41,380 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
