Funds & Scholarships

One of the Mid Michigan College Foundation's primary purposes is to provide much needed scholarships to deserving students at Mid. As "the communities college," we believe in making post-secondary education as accessible as possible. Generally speaking, there are three different kinds of scholarships at Mid.

In addition, there are also scholarships which are awarded by outside agencies (like community foundations) and State and Federal financial aid programs. The Michael And Dianne Morey Manufacturing Skilled Trades Scholarship Fund is a good example of these awards.

Establishing a Named Scholarship

Establishing a scholarship is an easy and rewarding process. While there are exceptions, you can establish a named scholarship if you intend to provide at least $1,000 or more per year for a minimum of five years. Otherwise, you can also donate to an existing scholarship that matches your interests.

Establishing an Endowment

Funds can be set up to provide for a number of vital needs including scholarships, technology, capital improvements, cultural offerings, and more. They can also be named for individuals, companies, or in memory or honor of a loved one.

In order to provide a meaningful level of investment income, the minimum funding level for an endowment is $10,000, which must be reached within three years of the date the fund was established.
