Teach Courses for Mid
Teaching Positions available!
Adjunct teaching positions, for both working and retired professionals, are available in the Mecosta-Osceola area and can provide you with additional income. These opportunities are mainly available during the day, with some evening course offerings. Depending on the course, instructors may work once a week or multiple days per week.
"Adjunct faculty can often draw from a wealth of professional experience," said Associate Dean of Off-Campus Instruction, Dr. Richard Smith. "This provides a rich learning environment for students because they can see how the skills they learn in a classroom apply to a career."
"We can help professionals make a successful transition to the classroom," notes Smith. "Teaching isn’t easy, but it is a very rewarding experience. It gives people a chance to enrich students’ lives and expand student horizons. Professionals have a unique opportunity as an adjunct instructor to help students develop a professional identity that will help them succeed in their chosen field of study."
Professionals interested in teaching are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. There is an ongoing need for adjunct faculty in these and many other areas, math, psychology, history, political science, and communications.
Do You Have a Master's Degree? You're Qualified!
Many local professionals may not realize that they are qualified to be a college-level instructor. If you have a master's degree, you can teach in that (or a very closely-related) subject area.
You'll be supported! For general classes, textbooks and syllabi are recommended by the full-time faculty in the department. Full-time faculty also support you with mentoring and teaching tips.
If you have a passion to teach, reach out and let us know. We'd love to welcome you to the Mid team! Fill out the form below or email Dr. Richard Smith, Associate Dean of Off-Campus Instruction, firstname.lastname@example.org.
