Stay at your college, and build your best schedule with a class or two at Mid. If you're enrolled full time at another college or university, you can round out your schedule and save money by enrolling as a guest at Mid.
Registering for classes at Mid requires a few basic steps. In fact, you may have already completed many of them.
Becoming a guest student is easier than you might think, and you don’t need to figure it out on your own. From Admissions to Mid Mentors to Academic Affairs, the teams at Mid are excited to meet you, and learn how we can help you achieve your goals.
Once you've applied, give yourself a pay on the back. You've taken the first big step. And you're already being connected to your Mid Mentor, who is ready and waiting to be your personal guide throughout your time at Mid.

STEP 1: Set up your MidMich Email and Online PORTAL.
You should set up your Mid Michigan College online Portal and email right away. Important updates and information begin right away. This is your College email and is used for all official College communications.
Please complete the following steps:
- Go to midmich.edu.
- Click on the Portal link in the upper right hand corner.
- Click on the Account setup link in the upper right hand corner.
- Read the information to set up your username and password.
- Click on Login in the upper right corner.
- Click the Email link in the upper left corner to get your email.

Verify You've met Course Prerequisites.
Several courses at Mid have prerequisites that must be met prior to enrollment in the course. Guest Students have often satisfied prerequisites at their "home" college/university. However, colleges/universities do not generally share prerequisite information with one another. So we have no knowledge if you actually completed a prerequisite for one of our courses at another college/university. This could prevent you from registering through our online system (Midweb).
To verify that you have met the prerequisites required at Mid, please follow the steps below.
- Fax an unofficial transcript from the college/university where you completed the prerequisite course to (989) 772-2386. You may also email the unofficial transcript to email@example.com.
- Identify what Mid course you wish to enroll in, and which course on your unofficial transcript you believe satisfies our prerequisite.
- Include your name, Mid Michigan College student ID number, phone number, and email address on your correspondence.
- Once we have verified that you have completed the prerequisite(s), we email you a confirmation. At this point you are able to utilize our online Midweb system to register and pay for the course.
Please note that this process may take time to complete. Our email confirmation in no way guarantees that a spot is available when you attempt to register. So please follow the steps above in a timely fashion, paying close attention to critical registration timelines.
Complete additional placement testing if necessary
Appropriate placement in courses promotes your success and allows us to assist you in selecting courses that align with your current skill levels. If you do not have access to transcripts or test scores, you may need to do additional placement testing. Your Mid Mentor can help you determine what you need to submit or what testing needs to be completed.
STEP 3: Arrange Payment.
Students who register prior to the full tuition due date are expected to pay the Enrollment Fee upon registration ($25 or $50 depending on course load). This fee "holds" a spot for the student in his/her classes. The remaining tuition is due on the full tuition due date. Students that register after the full tuition due date will be expected to pay the tuition in full at the time of registration. The Enrollment Fee and tuition can be paid on MidWeb, in Enrollment Services, or through our Cashier's Office.
Remember that Guest Students are not eligible for financial aid through Mid Michigan College. The federal government only allows you to apply for financial aid through one school per semester and that should be your home college/university where you are earning the bulk of your credits.
