Step 1

STEP 1: Get your Financial Aid in order.

If you haven't yet, you should begin this process. It takes a minimum of a few weeks to process financial aid for new students.

File your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov to determine your eligibility for grants, loans, scholarships, and work study.

If you are a transfer student, keep in mind that loans do not transfer between schools and that you will need to add Mid's school code [ Mid's School Code: 006768 ] to your FAFSA form.

Step 3

STEP 3: Send us your Transcripts & SAT/ACT Scores

If you've attended other colleges, have your college transcripts sent to us as well. If it's been longer than three years since you've graduated, you may need to complete additional placement testing (see info below).

How to send us your transcripts

Send them electronically via Parchment. Visit midmich.edu/parchment and request that an electronic version be sent to Mid Michigan College. It's fast, easy, and secure. And if you're still in high school, it's free. If you've graduated, it's only $3.25.

To have courses evaluated for credit

Request that an official transcript be mailed to Enrollment Services from each college/university you have attended. Unofficial transcripts will not be evaluated. Transcripts that come to Mid through student hands are considered unofficial even if they are sealed. You will receive an email from us once your transcript(s) have been evaluated. Please have your official transcript sent to the following address:

Complete additional placement testing if necessary

Appropriate placement in courses promotes student success and allows us to assist students in selecting courses that align with their skill levels. To place you correctly, we'll need this information from you. If you do not have access to one or both of these documents, you may need to do additional placement testing. Your Mid Mentor can help you determine what you need to submit or what testing needs to be completed.

step 4

STEP 4: Attend Orientation.

All incoming students must attend an orientation. At orientation, you will connect with other students, learn success skills, and meet with your College support team.

You will also be able to meet with an Academic Advisor who will help you schedule and register for your classes.
