What steps should I take to transfer from MMCC to another institution?
- Review the website and/or catalog of your preferred school. Confirm that they offer your desired program of study, explore transfer procedures and deadlines, and be aware of tuition rates and fees.
- Schedule an appointment with an advisor at your preferred school. Ask for information on how your courses will transfer and ask for any suggestions of courses or requirements to fulfill prior to enrollment.
- Apply for admission at your preferred school. There may be an admissions fee.
- Apply for financial aid and/or scholarships at your preferred school (if desired). If you're transferring mid-year and have already filed the FAFSA, you must open your FAFSA form online and add your preferred school's code. Loans don't transfer from school to school so it may take some time to get your funding in place.
- Request official transcripts from each of your previously attended institutions (including MMCC) be sent to your preferred school. There may be a fee.
- Complete orientation at your preferred school (if applicable).
- Enroll and attend courses.
What steps should I take to transfer into MMCC from another institution?
- Apply for admission online. There's no charge.
- Apply for financial aid (if desired). If you're transferring mid-year and have already filed the FAFSA, you must open your FAFSA online and add MMCC's school code (006768). Loans don't transfer from school to school so it may take some time to get your funding in place.
- Request official transcripts from each of your previously attended institutions be sent to MMCC (if you're looking to earn a degree, certificate, or MACRAO stamp).
- Complete orientation.
- Complete placement testing (if necessary). We require placement testing for English and Math unless you've already earned a "C" or better in these courses at another school or you have ACT scores earned within the past 3 years with a 21 or higher in Reading.
- Stop in for walk-in advising (or schedule an appointment if necessary).
- Enroll and attend courses.
