Carol ChurchillCarol A. Churchill became the fifth president of Mid Michigan Community College on July 1, 2007.  In this role, she provides overall leadership to the college which serves more than 5,500 students at three campus locations in the tri-county region of Clare, Gladwin, and Isabella Counties.

 President Churchill has twenty years of administrative experience within the Michigan Community College system.  From 2003 to 2007, she worked at Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan, a college serving approximately 42,000 students annually.  First serving as Dean of Student Success, her responsibilities included oversight of advising, counseling, job placement, work experience, special needs, testing and tutoring services.   After two years, she was named Vice Provost for Economic and Workforce Development, a role that included oversight of the Workforce Development Institute, the Center for Continuing Education, the Public Service Institute, and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center.  In this role, her clients included professionals who sought continuing education, small businesses, police, fire and emergency medical services personnel from throughout the region, and major corporations including the "Detroit Three" auto manufacturers.  As such, her divisions provided for local, regional, and international training in several countries including Mexico, India, Korea, China, and Egypt.

 Before joining Macomb Community College, Mrs. Churchill was Vice President for Student Services for six years at Southwestern Michigan College (SMC), a rural community college located in Cass County and serving about 2,400 students.  During her fifteen years at SMC, Mrs. Churchill also held the positions of Placement Counselor, Director of Career Work Experience Programs, and Dean of Enrollment Management. 

President Churchill received an Associate in Arts degree from Southwestern Michigan College (SMC).  From Western Michigan University,  she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and social science as well as the Master of Arts degree  in educational leadership with an emphasis in human resource development.  She is also a graduate of the prestigious Executive Leadership Institute of the League for Innovation in the Community College.
