Question: Can I charge my books against my pending aid? Yes, books and required supplies can be charged during designated time periods. You will need a copy of your student ID and a copy of your classes.
Question: When will I receive my Financial Aid Refund check? You should expect to receive your check in the mail approximately 6-8 weeks after the start of each semester.
Question: Why does it take so long to get my refund check? Federal guidelines require students to attend and participate in classes to be eligible for federal funds. It takes several weeks to get attendance reports back from your instructors and mail notifications. Once your attendance is verified, the business office starts the process of issuing financial aid checks.
Question: What should I do if my instructor has reported that I am not attending? Contact your instructor immediately and return the verification of attendance to the Enrollment Office. Failure to do this will result in your class being dropped and your Financial Aid being delayed or cancelled.
Question: What if I need these funds to pay for other educational costs? The college realizes that many of you are depending on those checks to pay for other educational costs and we are committed to processing them as quickly as possible.
Question: Should I call the financial aid office to check on my refund? To help us process your aid as quickly as possible, please wait until the 8th week of classes to call on your refund. Your Financial Aid awards can be viewed any time by looking at your Mid Web account at www.midmich.edu.
Question: Can I pick up my check in person? All checks are mailed. You cannot pick up your check in person. Make sure we always have your current address on our system!
Question: Will dropping a class affect my financial aid? Check with the Financial Aid Office if you will not be completing a course successfully. Dropping (or failing) a class may affect your current and future eligibility.
